DECLARING YOUR MAJOR: Instructions - Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (EEB)

Follow these guidelines for declaring Ecology & Evolution, Marine Biology, and Plant Sciences:

1.	Choose an Ecology & Evolutionary Biology major: if you need help choosing a major the Career Center can provide counseling. If you change your mind, you can always change your major, you need only repeat this process.
2.	Download the Declaration of Major form.
3.	Meet with your college advisor.
4.	Make an academic plan: plan out your course of study based on the degree requirements and course offerings. If you need assistance come to a degree workshop. You MUST create an academic plan before moving on to the next step!
5.	Choose a faculty advisor: Select a faculty advisor to advise you on your course of study.
6.	Meet with your faculty advisor: discuss your selected major, academic plan, choice of electives, research interests, post-graduate career goals, etc. Your faculty advisor is an expert in their field and can offer a wealth of information about the pursuit of science as both a course of study and a career. Be prepared - read up on your faculty advisor and their research prior to meeting, bring a list of questions you'd like answered, and bring your COMPLETED academic planner. Once you have met and discussed your academic plan, your faculty advisor will sign-off on your academic planner.
7.	Meet with a BioAdvisor: bring your Declaration of Major form (signed by your college) and your completed academic plan to meet with an advisor during drop in advising. At that time, we will provide feedback on your academic plan and complete your declaration form. The BioAdvising Office is open for drop in advising Monday - Friday, 1-3pm in 387 Thimann Labs.
8.	Do you need an extension of enrollment?
	NO, YOU ARE NOW DECLARED!!!
	YES, Return to your collge to petition to extend your enrollment.
