TRANSFERRING CREDIT: California Community College

The UCSC has established articulation agreements with most of the California Community Colleges. Your math, chemistry, biology and physics course work from your California Community College likely has a predetermined UCSC equivalency already articulated. These articulation agreements can be viewed on-line at www.assist.org.

Use ASSIST to:

- figure out what courses you should take to satisfy your introductory requirements at UCSC. This is easily done by cross checking your community college course offerings with your UCSC biology degree checklist.

- find courses that will satisfy your general education requirements here at UCSC.

- determine what UCSC course credit your community college courses qualify for.

NOTE: When using Assist, please note that in most cases a complete introductory biology sequence is required to receive credit for the introductory biology series here at UCSC. One course in the community college intro series does not necessarily count as one course in the UCSC intro series.

To transfer your credit you will need to fill out a Petition for Biology Credit. Drop-off, mail, or fax (831.459.1568) the completed form and a copy of your transcripts to BioAdvising.
